         Valentine's Day is an annual holiday celebrated on February 14th. It is often associated with romantic love and is celebrated by couples exchanging gifts, cards, and spending time together. The holiday's origins can be traced back to ancient Roman and Christian traditions, but it has since evolved into a popular secular celebration. St. Valentine, the patron saint of love. Saint Valentine was a 3rd-century Roman saint who is remembered on February 14 in Western Christianity.

        Many people spend Valentine's Day out to dinner, giving flowers or chocolates, or engaging in other romantic activities. Some people, however, choose to celebrate the day in other ways, such as by spending time with friends and family or engaging in self-care activities. It felt like a normal day on Valentine's Day, with no excitement or anything else. My family and I do not celebrate Valentine's Day in the same way that other families do. We are not used to giving each other gifts such as flowers or chocolates. I celebrated Valentine's Day at school by sleeping during our free time; it was a lot of fun to be honest. Spending Valentine's Day with my family, friends, and classmates made it better, and I really enjoyed it, even though I was disappointed because I expected a little program, but then again, I was very happy and thankful because my friends gave me some chocolates. Giving gifts is not always a sign of love, but a little effort and your genuine love for someone will always be enough.

 

          Valentine's Day is not universally celebrated around the world, and different meanings or traditions may exist depending on culture or region. But now, valentine's Day is now celebrated all over the world, and while it is primarily a romantic holiday, it is also a day to celebrate our feelings for those who are important to us. When love planted a rose, the world became sweet. Remember that the most important aspect of Valentine's Day is to express your love and appreciation for those who are important to you, whether they are a romantic partner, a friend, or a family member. Valentine's Day is just another reason to love as if there's no tomorrow.

                A celebration honoring the separation of the two Ilocos provinces in 1818 is held in the Province of Ilocos Sur. The Kannawidan Ylocos Festival is an annual event held in Vigan, Ilocos Sur in the north of the Philippines. It is a showcase of indigenous performances, religious ceremonies, and cookery demonstrations highlighting the best Ilocano cuisine. The festival, which takes place each January, honors the Ilocos region's rich cultural heritage and traditions. The 18-day festival started on January 28 and lasted until February 14 in 2023.

           Visitors can take part in a variety of events during the festival, such as street dancing performances, cultural displays, culinary markets, and beauty pageants. You may observe the many goods made by each municipality in Ilocos Sur in tawid ken yaman. The food is the best aspect of Tawid and Yaman since you may sample the many cuisines in other municipalities and buy goods made by each, such as abel and more. Additionally, there are contests that display traditional talents and crafts including weaving, pottery making, and woodcarving. I was amazed by the variety of goods and cuisines I saw at the Kannawidan when I went, although the venue is unfortunately narrow. I also watched several competitions, such as battle of the bands and street dance .I went to the governors' celebration on Governors Night, where I saw a lot of GMA celebrities sing, as well as Mayonnaise, a Filipino band,  and several parades with my friends.

                Experience the unique Ilocos culture, including its cuisine, music, dance, and arts and crafts, at the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival. The festival also honors the history of the area, which goes all the way back to the Spanish colonial era and beyond. If you're a tourist, you absolutely must include going to the Kannawidan Festival on your bucket list. I had a great time at the event and gained a lot of knowledge. The depth and richness of a celebration truly reflect a culture.
