The Christmas season in the Philippines is unlike any other. It is filled with traditions and celebrations that are unique to the country. It is also a time of family and friends coming together to share the joy. Christmas Caroling is a sign that Christmas is near. Christmas decorations, lights, you can already see them in the month of september.
Christmas used to be a holiday that my family and I would celebrate together, but when the pandemic began, we had to make do with video calls and chats. For us, Christmas is about sharing love rather than gifts. For us, a simple celebration is enough. Our Christmas this year is quite simple, but the nicest thing is that we are all together. Due to the fact that my aunt and uncle have their own families, we are unable to celebrate other family members, but thanks to the internet, we can now. Just a simple foods to eat together is enough for us to celebrate with. We attend church every Christmas Eve and always finish the misa de gallo. We have never skipped any of them.
Christmas is, in fact, a magical celebration that is all about sharing joy and happiness, which is why it is also my favorite holiday. Aside from the religious beliefs, the festival is known for sharing gifts with family and friends, and the adorable kids wait all year to open presents from Santa.
