I've gained knowledge from my past mistakes in a variety of circumstances. I have an extremely poor habit of putting things off, whether it involves family issues or academic issues. I put off doing anything until I'm overwhelmed, frustrated, and stressed. I'm going to make it my New Year's resolution to avoid putting things off. I'm going to make an effort to do the smaller tasks before they become overwhelming. I'll start by creating a diary where I can record all of my tasks, deadlines, and other important information. I'll also set aside time for homework and complete it before starting any other schoolwork. This year is the year for change, and I'll bring about a significant shift by taking small measures at a time.
Even though I've always broken my New Year's resolutions, every year I tell myself that this time will be different. The beginning of the new year seems to be the ideal time for self-improvement. Everything from getting my homework done early to quitting Facebook, I've tried. Each time, I gave up after a month (at most). Why even bother, you ask? When I don't keep my resolutions, I don't feel all that horrible, although occasionally I wish I could perform better.
In this new year, be grateful that God has given you victory over many things over the past year. Every year you make a resolution to change yourself. This year, make a resolution to be yourself.
